Introducing one of the most fish catching lures you will ever find: the SpinnerBaker Jig! We are crappie fishermen at SpinnerBaker, but the first day testing the SpinnerBaker Jig, we caught white bass, hybrids, black bass, catfish, drum, perch, and of course, crappie. It was just a preview of coming attractions, as the SpinnerBaker Jig has been a top producer for us ever since.
The SpinnerBaker Jig is a 1/16 oz, 1/12 oz, or 1/8 oz tube jig with a black chrome Matzuo Sickle Hook, and a trailing spinner blade that adds unbelievable action and flash to the lure. Because the wire that holds the blade is attached near the eye of the hook, the tube can be installed onto the jig head without re-tying your line, just like with any tapered body tube jig. Just insert the hook near the head of the tube, as shown in the small photos to the right, and work the tube onto the jig head. The 1/16 oz SpinnerBaker Jig comes with a 1 1/2 inch tube. It can accept any 1 1/2 to 2 inch tube body. The 1/12 and 1/8 oz SpinnerBaker Jigs come with a 2" tube.
Like all our jigs, the SpinnerBaker Jig is lead-free, made from our special bismuth alloy. Try the SpinnerBaker Jig on finicky fish and get ready to be surprised at just how many fish this lure will catch!
1/16 oz SpinnerBaker Jig - $1.89 ea
1/12 oz SpinnerBaker Jig - $1.94 ea
1/8 oz SpinnerBaker Jig - $1.99 ea
Fishing Tip: You can't fish the SpinnerBaker jig wrong. It will catch fish in all kinds of situations, but where the bait really shines is for casting to fish or shooting under docks. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you have to retrieve the bait fast enough to keep the blade spinning. Working the bait very slowly is usually better. Even the slightest movement will have the blade dancing and flashing. The new 1/12 oz is our favorite, and you'll wonder why this size hasn't been made before for crappie, but if you're fishing deeper, the 1/8 oz will work better, and a smaller bait like the 1/16 oz also has its days.
Note: All of our jigs come with black chrome Matzuo hooks. If you prefer red Matzuo hooks, let us know by email or in the comments section of the order, and we'll use them instead.
Good fishing,
Bud Baker
